National Geographic Time Zones
Time Zones, is a curriculum that is geared towards middle school students who have English proficiency between a level 1-4 on the WIDA scale. It uses amazing photography, updated videos, and inspiring stories of global citizens to encourage learners to explore the world in English.
Time Zones covers the four domains of listening, speaking, reading, and writing which delivers the skills and language that learners need to gain English proficiency within the WIDA aligned program.
We have adopted this program at my school, and we have seen such a difference in the abilities of our students. There are 5 levels to this program. There is a placement test that can be given also to place the students in the proper levels in case you do not what to level them by their ACCESS scores.
Starter -for newcomers that do not have any language acquisition

Level 2- those students who scored a 2-2.9 COMP on ACCESS
Level 3- those students who scored a 3-3.9 COMP on ACCESS
Level 4- those students who scored a 4-4.7 COMP on ACCESS

Student ACCESS 2.0 Growth
|
I've created a document that can help you measure and keep data on ELLs ACCESS scale score growth from year to year. Using this graph, you can easily see each domain and the progress that is made each year. I have included a PDF version and then excel version where you can add in the information on the computer to save it that way.
For those of you who are super techy and like to have everything nice and pretty I have included also the excel template that has the cells, graphs, and tabs already created for you. Just import your information.
